NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that former Iowa State RB Breece Hall visited with the Houston Texans on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Hall, who’s projected by most NFL draft analysts to be the first RB selected in the 2022 NFL draft, was a true bell-cow RB while at Iowa State. The cyclones ran their offense through Hall, who recorded 511 carries and 41 touchdowns over the past two seasons. The Texans would be a great fit for Hall from a fantasy perspective, as there aren’t many landing spots that provide a clear path to bell-cow type opportunities, but the Texans are one of those locations with Marlon Mack, Rex Burkhead, and Royce Freeman as his main competition for carries. Although Houston doesn’t project to have a high scoring or efficient offense in 2022, Hall would likely receive a large workload, and often times in fantasy volume is more important than efficiency. For proof you need to look no further than last season when Najee Harris averaged a poor 3.9 yards per carry behind a underwhelming Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line, but he received a whopping 307 carries which was enough to propel him into the RB4 on the season.
