While speaking with NFL Network’s Patrick Clayborn, Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson said “Our offensive style, it’s not a run first offense anymore. Just us being able to put different people in different positions and distribute the ball, really. I’m so excited in this offense.”
Fantasy Impact: The Vikings moved on from longtime HC Mike Zimmer after the 2021 season. Under Zimmer, a defensive-minded run-first coach, Jefferson has led the league in receiving since his rookie season in 2020 with 3,016 receiving yards. This offseason the team hired former Rams’ offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell, and with that hiring, the team is expected to transition to a more spread-out pass-friendly offense. Jefferson has been dominant in Zimmers’s offense, but a pass-first Vikings offense could bring his game to new heights. Jefferson is currently ranked as the WR2 according to FantasyPros ECR and he is consistently being selected as a first-round pick. In leagues that start three WRs, he should be an early first-round pick.
