Arizona Cardinals tight end Maxx Williams is expected to open training camp on the PUP list as he recovers from a torn ACL.
Fantasy Impact: Williams tore his ACL in Week 5 last season and continues to recover. As Kliff Kingsbury told the media last week, “He’s coming along. He’s doing everything he can. I think it will be (the) end of training camp when we kind of see where he stands. We’re not going to rush him.” He had a solid start to his 2021 season, catching 16 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown through the first five weeks. However, he went down in the middle of Week 5 and the Cardinals traded for Zach Ertz shortly after. Now, Arizona has both Ertz and rookie Trey McBride ahead of Williams on its depth chart. Even when the 28-year-old returns, he won’t have any fantasy value.
