During joint practices with the 49ers, WR Justin Jefferson ran some receiving routes out of the backfield, a new development for the Vikings’ offense.
Fantasy Impact: The argument over the No. 1 WR in fantasy football continues to rage on, with Cooper Kupp, Jefferson, and Ja’Marr Chase going 1-2-3 at the position in most drafts. Jefferson has been vocal during the preseason regarding the new head coach Kevin O’Connell’s changes to the offense, saying, “Now I see why Coop was open all the time. It’s so wonderful being in this type of offense.” He is currently being drafted No. 6 overall in all formats, reflecting an immensely high ceiling in a scheme that allowed Kupp to rack up 145 receptions for 1,947 yards last year. If the 23-year-old can build on his outstanding first two seasons, he will likely win the WR1 argument.
