Garrett Wilson caught 3-of-3 targets for 15 yards in New York’s 24-16 preseason win against the Falcons on Monday.
Fantasy Impact: The Jets expect big things out of Wilson as evidenced by them taking him with the 10th overall pick in this Aprils draft. The rookie out of The Ohio State University has strong hands and great body control which allows him to make acrobatic catches around defenders in traffic and tiptoe the sideline. Wilson caught 70 balls for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last season as a Buckeye and carried the ball four times for an additional 76 yards and one rushing touchdown. Wilson is a versatile receiver who averaged 23.8 yards per carry in college, with 143 rushing yards on just six carries in his final two seasons at Ohio State. The 2020 receiver class was one of the deepest in years and the fact that Wilson was arguably the best receiver in said class speaks volumes for his talent and potential. Wilson has the ability and potential to do what many receivers rarely do and contribute right away as a rookie.
