According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings are officially expected to release RB Dalvin Cook on Friday, barring any last minute trade offers.
Fantasy Impact: Cook, at the age of 27, is set to be a free agent not too long after signing his extension with Minnesota. While his yards per touch were at a career low of 4.8 in 2022, Cook also had his third-highest total of scrimmage yards in his six-year career, showing that he can still operate on volume, finishing as a fantasy RB1 in 2022. Cook will have the opportunity to sign wherever he wants, and the smoke is around Miami with Cook being from Florida. In Minnesota, though, RB Alexander Mattison gets an immediate boost in fantasy value.
