According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, newly acquired RB Dalvin Cook is still “at least a week away” from practicing with the New York Jets due to his shoulder surgery and a delayed arrival in New York due to an expected child.
Fantasy Impact: Given the timeline, it’s possible NFL fans do not see Cook suit up in a Jets uniform in the preseason, instead waiting for their Week 1 matchup with the Buffalo Bills to do so. It remains to be seen if RB Breece Hall will be ready to go for Week 1, and if he does share the field with Cook, it’s unclear what their roles will be, especially with the lack of camp reps for either of them. Cook and Hall could wind up being a messy backfield to divvy up for fantasy purposes, but until Hall is ready, Cook should be good to go as the team’s feature back.
