Joey Slye wins Commanders’ kicking battle

The Commanders have released Michael Badgley, which means that Joey Slye will open the year as Washington’s kicker.

Fantasy Impact: Slye has spent four seasons in the NFL, handling kicking duties for the Panthers and Commanders. He played in all 17 games for Washington last year, connecting on 24 of 28 extra points and 25 of 30 field goals. He’ll now return for a third year with the team but, from a fantasy football perspective, doesn’t project as anything more than a bye week fill-in.
