Despite the Chicago Bears’ 27-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, 22-year-old running back Roschon Johnson showed some promise.
Fantasy Impact: Johnson managed to rack up 32 yards on just 4 carries, with his longest run being a 29-yard dash that left Buccaneers’ defenders in the dust. He also proved his worth in the passing game, catching both of his targets for a total of 10 yards. While he didn’t find the end zone this week, Johnson’s performance was enough to keep him in the RB32 spot for the week and RB21 for the season. His versatility as both a rusher and receiver could make him a valuable asset for the Bears moving forward, especially as they prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs next week. He’s primed to get more work moving forward with the team phasing out veteran D’Onta Foreman, and he could be a breakout candidate if this Chicago offense can get things figured out.
