David Montgomery (ribs) won’t participate in Detroit’s practice on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact: Montgomery missed last week’s game because of an injury to his ribs, and he is now missing Detroit’s first practice of the week on Wednesday because of it. Friday and Saturday’s practices will tell us more about whether or not he will be available for Week 8, but it’s worth noting that Detroit has their bye in Week 9, so they could choose to sit him to give him all the time he needs to recover. Fantasy managers can expect rookie Jahmyr Gibbs to be a strong start once again if the veteran is unable to play on Monday night against the Raiders.
