Waiver Wire Week 7: Josh Allen’s schedule moving forward is hard to pass up, and Hunter Henry came back with a bang in Week 6.
Another week is in the books and now we again turn our attention towards the waiver wire. Week 6 bought some real stinkers at times and a few notable injuries, which might leave you more desperate or needy to find the perfect waiver wire pickup.
This week is a lot like last week where we don’t have a whole lot of strong waiver wire options, but there are a few decent ones especially with a lot of bye weeks coming up.
Also See: Players to Drop in Week 7
As always, we want to pay attention to injuries as more news comes out for some players. Most of the players listed below are the ones who are most likely available on your waiver wire in your league. Every player listed is owned in less than 50 percent of leagues (Yahoo and ESPN formats) with a few who might have a little more ownership, but possibly available.
Week 7 Waiver Wire: Possibly owned, but worth a look
Josh Allen (QB, BUF)
Josh Allen sits right around 50% ownership in both ESPN and Yahoo but could be a quality addition at the quarterback position. He does come with some ups and downs at times, but his schedule moving forward is hard to pass up. He will be going up against the likes of Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, Cleveland, and Miami over the next five weeks. He’s worth an add if you are hurting at quarterback.
Robby Anderson (WR, NYJ)
Robby Anderson and Sam Darnold appeared to reconnect instantly in week 6. Anderson managed 6 receptions (on 8 targets) for 125 yards and a touchdown. Most of his yards came on a 92-yard touchdown pass. He can be a boom or bust option if Darnold doesn’t connect on the deep ball, but he’s definitely worth an addition to your roster. The Jets also have a favorable schedule from Week 8 to Week 14.
Golden Tate (WR, NYG)
Golden Tate saw 9 targets in his second game with the Giants and managed 6 receptions, 102 yards, and a touchdown. Sterling Shepard is facing a possible extended absence with his now second concussion, which Tate should begin to soak up the targets in his absence. One thing that is still up in the air is how Tate might fit in once Barkley, Engram, and Shepard return but for now, he is a decent option at receiver.
Hunter Henry (TE, LAC)
Hunter Henry came back with a bang and posted 8 receptions for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Many might deem him injury prone, but if your in need of a tight end he’s worth a pickup and hopes he manages to stay healthy.
Week 7 Waiver Wire: Less than 50% ownership
Sam Darnold (QB, NYJ)
Darnold seemed to bring life back to the Jets offense as he went for 338 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s got a tough matchup against the Patriots next week but then faces the Jaguars, Dolphins, Giants, Redskins, Raiders, Bengals, and Dolphins again. If you’ve got a roster spot to spare he’s worth a hold until Week 8.
Jamaal Williams (RB, GB)
After being sidelined for Jones’s 4 touchdown performance in week 5, Lafleur went right back to a committee on Monday Night. Jamaal Williams put together 14 rushing attempts for 104 yards and 4 receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown. He out-touched Jones 18-15 and outgained him 136-60. Aaron Jones did fumble early on, which could have put him in the dog house with Lafleur. Either way, Williams is a good pickup this week.
Mark Walton (RB, MIA)
Nobody from the Dolphins is an appealing fantasy start, but we have to explore all possibilities here especially with bye weeks coming up. Mark Walton had 75 total yards in their week six matchup (6 rushing attempts for 32 yards, 5 receptions for 43 yards). He’s a deep dive option if you’re in a deeper league or desperate for a running back. He managed to get the start over Drake, but Drake out-touched him 16-11.
Darrell Henderson (RB, LAR)
Darrell Henderson saw some more action this week with Todd Gurley not playing. Malcolm Brown got the start and lead the backfield in touches, but Henderson had a few decent runs with the work he did. He might be worth a stash to see if Gurley’s injury lingers and how the duo of Brown and Henderson shakes out.
Auden Tate (WR, CIN)
Auden Tate had another decent showing after being on this list last week. He had 5 receptions for 91 targets on 12 targets. Now the Bengals are struggling and there will come with some ups and downs when rostering skill positions on this offense. If your hurting at receiver, Tate could be a bye week fill in.
Jamison Crowder (WR, NYJ)
Jamison Crowder seemed to benefit, along with everyone else, with the return of Sam Darnold. Crowder put together 6 receptions (9 targets) for 98 yards this last Sunday. Darnold seems to like to go his way and this Jets team appears to have taken quite a leap. He’s definitely worth an add, especially in PPR formats.
Darren Fells (TE, HOU)
Darren Fells managed 6 receptions (7 targets) for 69 yards this last week and appears to still be a part of this Houston offense. He presents some risk as Houston continues to utilize two tight ends frequently. Tread with caution as he very well could disappear at times.
