Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is reportedly receiving “aggressive offers” to be traded from the organization, as reported by Tim McManus of ESPN.
Fantasy Impact: Wentz remains with the Eagles despite ongoing rumors that the organization is fielding aggressive trade offers from other teams seeking to acquire the once highly-touted MVP prospect. With Wentz set to make $25.4 million in 2021, the Eagles are asking for high compensation in a potential trade package due to the $30 million dead cap hit they will suffer if they succeed in trading the allegedly disgruntled quarterback. Even as a new head coaching regime begins in Philadelphia, it seems likely that Wentz will try to attempt a comeback in 2021 with another team in need of a franchise quarterback due to the athleticism and talent he has displayed in past seasons. In 2020, Wentz threw for under 2,700 yards, 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 12 games before getting benched for rookie Jalen Hurts in the final quarter of the season. Continue monitoring the situation, as teams rumored to have interest include the Colts, Patriots, Panthers, Bears and Texans.
