New Orleans Saints RG Nick Easton has been released, saving the organization close to $6 million in cap space heading into the 2021 season, as reported by Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Impact: The Saints are attempting to get beneath the salary cap but the release of the veteran right guard is likely attributed to the numerous concussions he suffered throughout the season. Easton will hit waivers as New Orleans seemingly prepares for a complete overhaul of their roster, as everyone expects franchise quarterback Drew Brees to announce his retirement any moment following a recent contract renegotiation. Former 2019 first-round draft pick Cesar Ruiz will fill the void at right guard following Easton’s release.
