Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes (groin) and defensive tackle Vita Vea (foot) participated in practice on Thursday. This is the first time all week both have practiced and it’s a positive sign towards them playing on Monday against the Steelers. Grimes had been dealing with a groin issue since Week 1 and Vea has been missing since the preseason due to his foot injury. There will likely be some rust on Vea since he’s been out so long but he should still be an immediate impact player if given play time Monday. An adjustment period is to be expected with rookies. Grimes will be a big boost to the secondary if cleared to play. The Buccaneers lost former first-round cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III to season-ending shoulder surgery last week and have been desperate for help on the back end. The Steelers have too much talent to be stymied by the Bucs’ defense, but surely there will be a small hit on the overall offense if these starters are healthy.
