Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley will look to be more of a factor this Sunday against the Panthers. There was definitely an enormous amount of hype around Ridley coming into Week 1. However, the rookie failed to make an impact. In fact he was only targeted by quarterback Matt Ryan a couple of times. I suspect this week we’ll see something different. On Wednesday head coach Dan Quinn stated that Ridley isn’t the type of player they want to work in slowly, he’s someone they want to have the ball as much as possible. Ridley’s speed was on display last week, as he was actually open a lot throughout the game. The most obvious was on the last play when Matt Ryan tried to squeeze a ball in the corner to receiver Julio Jones, while Ridley was wide open on a slant. The receiver draws a favorable matchup against a vulnerable Panthers secondary.
