FanDuel Week 4 Value Plays This isn’t a list of the best players for Week 4, but those who will give you the best bang for your buck.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Weekly Value Picks
Alright, alright, you got me, none of these players actually cost a dollar. What they are is a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank. Again, this is not a list of the best players each week, this is a list of the players that offer the best bang for your buck.
With that being said, these are my FanDuel Week 4 value plays.
QB: Baker Mayfield ($6,900, CLE @ OAK)
I know, everyone is going to be on the Baker bandwagon this week but the fact remains that he came in against a Jets defense that has performed well this year and made a Browns team, that looked horrendous with Tyrod Taylor behind center, look pretty darn good. This week, he gets a Raiders defense that just gave up 26+ FanDuel points to Ryan Tannehill and he comes in at $6,900 for a solid value that is almost $2,000 less than the top QBs. I think it is very possible to get 20+ out of Baker Mayfield against those same Raiders this week.
Additional Value Pick: Andy Dalton ($7,400, CIN @ ATL) is averaging 20+ FPPG in the first three weeks this season.
RB: Giovani Bernard ($6,400, CIN @ ATL)
Giovani Bernard filled in for an injured Joe Mixon last week against the Carolina Panthers and put up very respectable numbers with more opportunities than he is accustomed to. He received 12 carries and caught 5 of 9 targets in the passing game on his way to 17+ FanDuel points. He will see a shaky, depleted Falcons defense this week that is without starters Deion Jones and Keanu Neal in a game that has the makings of an offensive shootout. I project 12-15 carries and 8+ targets in the passing game, which could pay big dividends for Bernard owners.
RB: Sony Michel ($5,900, NE vs MIA)
I get it, we all know that picking a Patriots running back is like buying a lottery ticket: you are excited for the potential that you could cash in big, usually to be left afterward regretting the money you spent. This feels a little different because it seems like there are only two remaining options with Sony Michel and James White being the last men standing after Rex Burkhead and Jeremy Hill hit the IR. He should get a healthy dose of early down work and will hopefully see some red zone and goal line opportunities. At $5,900 I say the risk of this Patriot RB is worth the potential payoff. Buy the lottery ticket and if you win I’ll take 10%.
Additional Value Pick: Chris Carson ($6,400 SEA @ ARI) had 34 touches last week, this week gets a low-ranking Cardinals D.
WR: Kenny Golladay ($5,800, DET @ DAL)
Golladay has been very consistent through the first three weeks of this season. He is averaging 9+ targets, 6+ catches and 15.7 FanDuel points per game thus far, with his lowest output at 14.3. The Cowboys defense has been surprisingly good this year so when the run inevitably fails, Detroit will do what Detroit does and Stafford will air it out. That means Kenny Golladay should do what Kenny Golladay does and produce solid fantasy numbers.
WR: Tyler Boyd ($5,800, CIN @ATL)
Tyler Boyd has had himself two very good back-to-back showings. In the last two weeks he has 12 catches on 16 targets for 223 yards and 2 TDs, which is an average of 20+ FanDuel points during those games. That puts him in elite company with only Michael Thomas, Mike Evans, and Calvin Ridley and at $5800 he is priced well below two of those three. There should be plenty of targets to go around against a Falcons defense that is ranked near the bottom in all categories (See Bernard above).
Additional Value Pick: Calvin Ridley ($6,300, ATL vs CIN) went off last week for 37 FanDuel points, this might be the last time to get him at a low price.
TE: Rhett Ellison ($4,100, NYG vs NO)
I’m not going to get too deep into this one. Evan Engram is out, Rhett Ellison is really cheap and will be on the field against one of the bottom ranking pass defenses in a game where the Giants will need to score points. If you need someone at a low price with decent upside, Ellison is your man.
Additional Value Pick: Tyler Eifert ($4,600, CIN @ ATL) had 6 catches for 74 yards last week and he gets a porous Falcons D this week.
DEF
Chargers, $4,400 vs SF
Seahawks, $4,400 @ ARI
Packers, $4,300 vs BUF
I am giving you a 3-for-1 deal on the defenses. They are all priced closely and all face young, unproven, QBs leading less than stellar offenses. Of the three, I prefer the Chargers, but you should choose your favorite or do Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe, and they shouldn’t disappoint.
Additional Value Pick: You got 3-for-1 deal already, what else do you want? Okay, okay, the Browns ($3500 @ OAK) are averaging 10+ FPPG even though they have played two prolific offenses in NO and PIT. This week they get a Raiders team that has only scored 5 total TDs while Derek Carr has thrown 5 INTs.
