Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said he likes rookie running back Kerryon Johnson and will let the rookie’s role develop and define itself based on his play early in the year. The Lions are expected to go with a committee approach in the backfield with LeGarrette Blount and Johnson, with Theo Riddick helping on third downs. Blount will be the heavy bruiser in short-yardage/goal-line situations and will likely steal touchdowns from Johnson, but Johnson has the most upside and see his touch totals increase as the season progresses. Johnson has the upside to be an RB2 in his first season.
