Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb turned in a fine effort in his preseason finale on Thursday. The rookie drew the start, rushing five times for 30 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions. Chubb got the Browns off to a fast start in the game, picking up a seven and a 15-yard gain before scoring on a three-yard rush on Cleveland’s first offensive series. Chubb finishes the preseason with 45 carries for 140 yards and two scores. He will open the season as the backup to veteran Carlos Hyde but he could force his way into a timeshare later in the year.
