When looking at fantasy streaming kickers, I view any game in which a kicker scores 10 or more points a success. Week 9 was a tough week, as no kicker amassed more than 12 fantasy points with only five kickers scoring 10 or more points.
Last week I recommended Brandon McManus as one of my streaming fantasy kickers, and although he only scored 4 fantasy points, I am still happy about the selection. I chose McManus as a streaming kicker because the Texans had allowed the most field goal attempts to kickers and because the game was being played in the high altitude of Denver. McManus was given the chance to attempt a 62-yard field goal, and a 51-yard goal. Although the results were not as great as they could have been, the opportunity was there. If McManus connected on one of those long field goals he would have hit the 10-point threshold.
No one can determine whether kickers will make their field goal attempts, the best you can do is select kickers with the best opportunity to attempt field goals. I believe in fantasy you need to trust the process over the result and rely more on the opportunity that players have rather than blindly accept the end result. Therefore, the following kickers are streaming options that should be in position for good fantasy outings in Week 10.
Robbie Gould (SF)
Robbie Gould is set up for a great Week 10 outing in fantasy. The Giants have been the most fantasy friendly matchup for kickers so far this season, giving up an average of 12 points per game to the position. A huge part of this is due to the fact that the Giants are ranked 21st in yards per game allowed, giving up 366 yards per game. Despite a poor defense between the 20s, the Giants are ranked 4th in red zone defense, allowing a touchdown on only 42% of red zone drives. So teams are able to move the ball against the Giants but have difficulties finishing drives with touchdowns and have to settle for a field goal attempt.
The 49ers offense looked great last week with Nick Mullens at the helm and should carry that offensive dominance over into a great Week 10 matchup. Gould has reached the 10-point threshold in 4 of his 9 outings this season, look for him to exceed 10 points again this week.
Josh Lambo (JAC)
Josh Lambo and the Jaguars have a Week 10 matchup with the Colts, who have been allowing an average of 10 points per game to opposing kickers. The Jaguars offense has been terrible in the past few weeks, but they are due to have star running back Leonard Fournette back in action this week, which would give the offense a much-needed boost. Lambo has been perfect on field-goal attempts this season, connecting on all 12 of his opportunities. Additionally, the Colts have a bottom 10 overall defense in yards per game allowed, but a top 10 red zone defense allowing a touchdown on 50 percent of red zone trips this season. Look for the Jaguars to move the ball against the Colts and afford Lambo plenty of field goal opportunities in Week 10.
Mike Badgley (LAC)
The Chargers released former kicker Caleb Sturgis following their Week 9 win against the Seahawks due to poor performance after he missed a field goal and two extra point attempts in the game. Mike Badgley has kicked in two games so far this season for the Chargers and is a perfect 3 for 3 on field goal attempts. The Chargers have an elite offense and will be able to move the ball pretty easily against a Raiders defense allowing over 400 yards per game. The Raiders have allowed 10 points to opposing kickers in each of their previous 3 games. Look for that streak to continue as the Chargers offense should provide Badgley with plenty of field goal opportunities and allow him to top the 10 points threshold.
