Nelson Agholor Goes Off; Ertz Leaves With Concussion
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor had an excellent game on Sunday night, catching seven passes on 12 targets, gaining 141 yards and scoring a touchdown. It was easily a season high in yards for Agholor, who hadn’t picked up more than 50 yards for five consecutive games. Tight end Zach Ertz was forced from the game with a concussion, and Agholor has always played a larger role in the offense in games where Ertz is not on the field.
Josh Gordon Busy in Return to Field
The talented receiver caught 4-of-11 targets for 85 yards, but it wasn’t enough as the Browns fell to the Los Angeles Chargers 19-10. Gordon showed no signs of rust in his return, looking as fast and athletic as ever in a tough matchup against a skilled Chargers secondary. Read more.
Isaiah Crowell Sees Just 11 Touches
It was a disappointing and perplexing game from both Crowell and the Cleveland coaching staff. The Chargers came into the game with one of the worst run defenses in the league, yet Cleveland gave just 17 carries to Crowell and Duke Johnson in a game that they actually were in for most of the afternoon. Matthew Stafford Hurts Hand in Ugly Loss
X-Ray’s after the game were negative and it is unclear how much, if any, time Stafford will miss. Stafford completed 24-of-29 passes for 292 yards and a touchdown in the contest. He also threw an interception and lost a fumble in the game. Read more.
Robby Anderson Continues Torrid Streak
In a 38-31 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13, Anderson led the team in targets with 12 -; catching eight of them for 107 yards. He also added seven yards on the ground on one carry. Anderson’s five-game touchdown streak may have come to an end, but he still got the job done for fantasy owners nonetheless. Read more.
Marshawn Lynch Breaks 100 Yards
Continuing his recent hot streak, Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch broke 100 yards rushing for the first time as a Raider on Sunday, with 101 yards on the ground, 20 through the air on two catches and a rushing touchdown. Read more.
Marcus Mariota Improves on Mistakes in Win
Mariota did not commit the costly mistakes that he had been recently, but he still only finished with 150 passing yards and one touchdown. He did have a decent day rushing to supplement his lack of passing production, as he toted the ball for 23 yards and another touchdown. Read more.
Tyrod Taylor Struggles While Battling Through Injury
Buffalo Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott said that Taylor had suffered the injury on the first play of the game, but wanted to continue playing. However, he was ineffective while on the field, completing just 9-of-18 passes for 65 yards to go along with 32 yards on the ground. Given that Taylor was carted off the field, it seems likely that he will be out for at least Week 14’s action, if not the rest of the season.
Dede Westbrook Makes Strides
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook caught six passes for 78 yards as the Jaguars stomped over the Colts 30-10. Westbrook is emerging as a reliable number two receiver in the Jaguars offense, posting his second straight game with six receptions.
