Week 4 Fantasy Football Trade Targets: Week 3 is over my friends! Hopefully we made some good decisions this weekend and made our teams stronger than the chairs these NFL linemen sit down on.

Sell High
Adrian Peterson (RB, WAS)
Adrian Peterson has looked solid in two of his three outings. Why does this sound so familiar? Last season in his first and games with Arizona, AP lit up the fantasy scoreboard. Expect serious regression from the former MVP moving forward. Peterson, of course, carries flex value while having RB2 upside against the weaker defenses. The issue here his Washington’s backs have the 5th hardest SOS moving forward. With Chris Thompson eating into AP’s workload, expect more Week 2-like performances from Peterson. Try to package him with an WR2 or flex player to upgrade the position you are most in need of upgrading.
Chris Carson (RB, SEA)
Chris Carson finally did it! He had his breakout game. It’s all smooth sailing from here on out, right? It actually took Carson 32 carries to put up 102 yards. For those of you doing the math, that is just about 3.2 yards per carry. Carson has a strong hold on Seattle’s RB1 job, but that is not as glamorous as it sounds. With a weak offensive line it will be hard to find consistent space, and with Seattle’s defense as bad as it is there will be a lot of playing from behind. Carson will see closer to 10-12 carries a week than the 32 we saw in Week 3. Sell Carson to a team in need of an RB for a steadier flex.
Calvin Ridley (WR, ATL)
Calvin Ridley has all the ingredients of an WR1, just not this season. After two strong showings in Week 2 and 3, Ridley’s stock has shot up higher than a Chris Paul floater in the lane. With 4 TDs (3 alone last game) Ridley has shown out! This week is the week to cash in on him. Calvin has now put himself on the game planning map, meaning opposing defenses will not be able to double team Julio Jones as much as they could before. Calvin will be dependent on the deep ball and consistent single coverage to succeed every week. Expect an uptick in Julio’s usage with Ridley dropping to a weekly flex play. Packaging Ridley with the right grouping of players can most certainly bring in a better WR2 or RB2.
Isaiah Crowell (RB, NYJ)
Is anyone truly excited about a Jets running back? The clear answer should be: no. But with Isaiah Crowell having two great fantasy outings and two weeks of multiple-touchdown games, now is the time to make good on his production. Crowell’s clear time-share with Bilal Powell only lessens his chance of repeating his Week 1 and 3 performances. Crowell is averaging less than 3 YPC, that is if you take out his 62-yard TD run Week 1. Right now Crowell can net you a very strong flex WR who will be far more consistent.
Kerryon Johnson (RB, DET)
It happened, it really happened. For the first time in what seems like 40 years a Detroit Lions running back ran for over 100 yards. Now, more than ever, Kerryon Johnson should be sold to the highest bidder. Detroit has too many receiving weapons and Matthew Stafford is going to sling the ball upwards of 40-50 times a game. Trade Johnson now to someone who’s willing to bite the hype after his first career 100 -yard rushing performance.
Buy Low
Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry (RB, TEN)
Patience is the key here with Dion Leris and Derrick Henry. Tennessee is clearly suffering from the Marcus Mariota injury and dependent more on inside handoffs to Henry, who has seen 18 rushing attempts the last two games and has found no room to run. Lewis, meanwhile, has struggled since his great Week 1 performance. The main issue here is the Mariota injury. With defenses able to stack the box on Henry and Mariota struggling to get into any passing groove it makes it difficult for either RB to get it going. I am higher on Lewis gaining traction because of his dual-threat skill set. I do believe once Mariota is healthy, both Henry and Lewis have high flex and RB2 upside, especially Lewis in PPR league formats. Buy low while both are basically going for free.
Sony Michel (RB, NE)
It has been a rough first two games for rookie Sony Michel. In the past I have always avoided Patriots RBs. I am doing quite the opposite here. It is very clear the Patriots are trying to involve Michel as much as they possibly can. The fact of the matter is NE’s offense is depleted right now and nothing worked for them versus the Lions. There is a bright side though, the return of Julian Edelman and the addition of Josh Gordon. With the amount of work Michel has received it is only a matter of time before the field starts to open up for young Michel. Buy Michel low while his value is dropping faster than the 1928 stock market crash.
Chris Godwin (WR, TB)
I spoke briefly about Godwin in last week’s article. While I told you to sell high on DeSean Jackson, I am confident in buying low on Godwin, who is in line to be Tampa Bay’s number two WR right behind Mike Evans. Godwin’s ability to stretch the field while running precise routes in the red zone makes him a strong flex play the rest of the season. While Godwin will rarely put up 100+ yards, he will be a consistent 50-60 yards per game player with a very high chance to score a TD. With Evans constantly drawing double-teams in the end zone, look for Godwin to make his money taking advantage of them. Godwin is only about 40percent-owned at the time of writing, and in a heavy pass-first offense, scoop him up now or trade some low-end player for him, as he is only going to get better.
Jack Doyle (TE, IND)
Jack Doyle’s season has been highly disappointing. He came into the season looking to be a firm TE1 with Andrew Luck back in the fold. With Doyle being week-to-week with an injury, now is the time to pounce. Luck is only going to get better as time goes on and Doyle has been very productive at the TE position his previous two seasons. Get Doyle on the cheap, because moving forward, when he is on the field and healthy, he will make for a high-end TE2.
