For the first time in forever!
It feels like the first time in ages that we have a juicy waiver wire to pick players from. This is the first time so far this season that I have felt a competitive urge while making my selections. Confident that each one of these picks could potentially start this week (depending on your roster), I am very excited to present to you the Week 4 Waiver Wire.

Worth a Look (Over 50% owned):
Jamaal Williams, DET- RB (61%)
Jamaal Williams put up excellent numbers this week. Why, you ask? Lions’ RB1 DeAndre Swift suffered a shoulder injury and there is a good chance he will miss some time. If Williams can add to his touch total, which was already at 22 this week, he could become an elite handcuff as midseason gets underway.
Chris Olave, NO- WR (65%)
Chris Olave, a.k.a target machine, has been a workhorse for the Saints the last two weeks. With 227 yards on his 26 targets, there is no reason Olave shouldn’t be taken off waivers due to his immense upside. Olave has been productive even without scoring a touchdown, which is bound to happen soon. If Olave, for whatever reason, is available in your league, you’ve got to take him.
David Njoku, CLE- TE (51%)
The need for consistent tight ends continues in the fantasy world, however, that’s not quite something I can bring you. What I can bring you though is a tight end whose starting would be very risky but could pay off huge. Coming off of a monster week, Njoku may be your best option, but keep the potential boom or bust in mind.
Waiver Wire Picks:

Khalil Herbert, CHI- RB (49%)
I said it last week. I said it two weeks ago. I’ll say it again. If Khalil Herbert is sitting on your waivers, you are crazy, and apparently, 51% of leagues are in fact crazy. There’s no need to repeat myself, so here’s exactly what I said last week right here:
“It’s fairly likely that David Montgomery either gets hurt or has his touches handed over to Herbert at some point this season. Even though Herbert may not have a lot of usage at the moment, he could have some red zone touches as a backup. It’s only a matter of time until the stash pays off.”
Well, Montgomery got hurt, Herbert got red zone usage, made some incredible runs, and the stash has paid off — 169 total yards and 2 touchdowns is elite for any fantasy league’s scoring. In addition, if Khalil Herbert shows that he is more explosive than Montgomery this week, it could mean a significant boost in usage for the young back. PICK. UP. KHALIL. HERBERT.
Mack Hollins, LVR- WR (2%)
Mack Hollins’ target share has been on an upward trend every week so far. Surprisingly enough, Hollins has actually led the Raiders in receiving yards this season. Hollins seems to be a focal point of the Raiders’ offense thus far in the season, and his volume is worth banking on. Logging 158 yards on Sunday, Hollins showed us all that he needs to be rostered.
Tyler Conklin, NYJ- TE (21%)
Among all tight ends, Tyler Conklin is third in the league in targets, and second in catches. In PPR leagues, that should be all I need to say, but I’ll keep going. Conklin has had steady volume at around 8 targets per game, which has turned into steady yardage as well. With 84 yards in Week 3, Conklin cemented himself as a high-floor TE in fantasy.
Zay Jones, JAX- WR (10%)
Did I just read 11 targets? Seems so. Jones caught 10 of 11 in the Jaguars upset this weekend for 85 yards and a score. Trevor Lawrence has used Zay Jones as an easy target for short, yet efficient, yardage. While Christian Kirk is still the clear WR1 in Jacksonville, Jones is not looking at all like a bad option at WR2.
Romeo Doubs, GB- WR (29%)
In a week where Doubs was expected to break out, he did. Catching 8 of 8 targets and logging a TD, Doubs showed his coaches why he deserves more playing time. An increase in usage isn’t unrealistic at all, especially with many injuries to the Green Bay receiving core. If Doubs can remain a starter for the Packers, he could be a huge play in fantasy.
Samaje Perine, CIN- RB (6%)
Samaje Perine has already locked himself into the RB2 role in Cincinnati this season. RB1 Joe Mixon suffered an ankle injury in this week’s game and did not return, putting his Week 4 status in question.
Despite expectations for Mixon to be fine, it’s a short week for the Bengals, so I wouldn’t say it’s a sure thing. Mixon’s absence would immediately make Perine a solid FLEX play this week. If Mixon does not play, you might want to reserve your Perine ticket for Week 4, but keep an eye out on the injury report.
Greg Dortch, ARI- WR (17%)
When looking at Greg Dortch’s numbers, they are almost identical to those of Zay Jones. With around the same yardage, one more catch, and also one touchdown each, you could expect the same from each of them. However, it should be kept in mind that Arizona is still down Rondale Moore and DeAndre Hopkins. Once they return, I would expect Dortch to have minimal fantasy impact. Until then, Dortch could be a very useful receiver to have.
