Week 9 has six teams on bye. If you’re like me, that may mean you’re missing half of your team with limited options. That’s the beauty of the waiver wire. Now of course the waiver wire may be slim depending on your league, but I believe that some points are better than zero points.
Even if your team wins by one point, you still get a win in the win column. Take advantage of every extra point you can get. If you need some points from the quarterback position this week, take a look at some of these guys as options for Week 9 streaming quarterbacks.
Week 9 streaming quarterbacks
Taylor Heinicke (WAS)
With Carson Wentz sidelined, Taylor Heinicke is once again the starter for the Commanders. He was in command of the offense last week finishing with 279 yards and two touchdowns.
He has the green light to throw the ball, and will certainly need to throw this week against Minnesota. The Vikings will score points, and the Commanders will be forced to keep up. Look for this to be a high-scoring game which means both quarterbacks in this game should have quite a bit of volume.
Plus, Heinicke has solid weapons at his disposal and will be able to move the ball on this Vikings defense that is giving up an average of 291 passing yards per game in their last three games. Fire up Heinicke this week, and feel good about it.
Kirk Cousins (MIN)
Refer to the above information, and you’ll understand why you should be starting Kirk Cousins this week. This should be a high-scoring game for both teams, and the Vikings should have the overall advantage.

In addition, Cousins just received a new weapon that can catch downfield passes and take pressure off of everyone in the offense. New tight end T.J. Hockenson will be a solid threat in this offense and receive a lot of one-on-one coverage with Jefferson being the focal point.
Cousins has all he needs to be successful this week and going forward. Washington’s Defense has played better as of late, but this offense will be hard to contain. This is also a “revenge game” for Cousins as well. Not sure that means much, but either way it should be a good week for Cousins and the Vikings.
Andy Dalton (NO)
Believe it or not, Andy Dalton has been startable in fantasy ever since he took over as the starter for New Orleans. By no means is he anyone’s first option on a weekly basis, but the matchups have proved to be good for Dalton.
This week he gets to throw against a Ravens defense that over the course of the season has given up 268 passing yards per game. Olave has a knack for being open in all the right spots, and it doesn’t hurt to have Alvin Kamara taking short passes and turning them into long gains. If you’re in a pinch, start up Dalton this week, especially with six teams on bye.
