And now, here are this week’s Brilliant, Bold, and Bonkers NASCAR Fantasy picks for the Bluegreen Vacations 500 at ISM Raceway
Brilliant NASCAR fantasy picks
Kyle Busch
- Wins: 3
- Top 5 finishes: 10
- Top 10 finishes: 20
He’s aces on this track, and he’s won the last two races here. He had the best run time in the first practice round this week, and I expect his luck will continue all weekend. Kyle Busch is going to be in the final four, one way or another, so if he somehow misses the win, count on a stage win (or two) and at least a top 3 finish.
Kevin Harvick
- Wins: 9
- Top 5 finishes: 16
- Top 10 finishes: 22
Harvick won last week, yes, but this is one of his best tracks. Harvick has kicked it into high gear in recent weeks, and he isn’t showing any signs of stopping. It might be a battle between the 4 and the 18 when the checkered flag flies, but the 4 has a great chance of pulling it off.
Denny Hamlin
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 12
- Top 10 finishes: 16
Though it’s not his best track, this is make-or-break time for Hamlin. Last week it looked as though the No. 11 would punch his ticket to the final four–until he lost control and slid across the grass early on. Though his team did an amazing job of getting him back on the track, he never made up the time he needed to stay above the cutline. After a career season, expect this team to go for broke on Sunday.
Bold NASCAR fantasy picks
Aric Almirola
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 2
- Top 10 finishes: 5
If anyone gave Harvick a run for his money last week, it was Double-A. You can bet that his second-place finish was a stinger, and he’ll hold onto that feeling going into ISM. This is one of his better tracks, and he hasn’t finished outside of the top 10 in two years. Look for the No. 10 to make a run for it on Sunday.
Kyle Larson
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 4
- Top 10 finishes: 5
Larson wants to race his way into the final four at Homestead, and though this isn’t an amazing track for him, he’s been on a warm streak (bordering on hot) for the last few months. If Larson can hold on when the going gets tough, you might just see the 42 pull out an amazing win.
Martin Truex Jr.
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 4
- Top 10 finishes: 10
Truex isn’t a brilliant pick, only because he’s not the best at this track, and he’s already locked in at Homestead. This doesn’t mean that he can’t win, however, and he’s one of the best drivers on the circuit right now. That’s why you just can’t rule him out for a possible number-one on Sunday.
Bonkers NASCAR fantasy picks
Joey Logano
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 4
- Top 10 finishes: 10
The last few races at ISM have not been the best for Logano. He hasn’t won since 2016 and his last few finishes have been in the double-digits. Logano is resting 20 points above the cutoff line right now, and all he has to do is kick back and finish well in order to move on.
Ryan Blaney
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 1
- Top 10 finishes: 3
Blaney had a third-place finish here in the spring, but he’s been mediocre at this track in general. With so many people scrambling for position, I expect Blaney to get shuffled back deep in the pack by the end of this exciting race.
Clint Bowyer
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 2
- Top 10 finishes: 7
With an average finish of 19th at ISM Raceway, don’t expect Bowyer to pull off an amazing feat when the end of the race rolls around. He has a better chance of taking a win at Homestead, or just about anyplace else than he has here.
