This week’s NASCAR fantasy picks for the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, Miami.
The final race of the 2019 NASCAR season is on Sunday. Everything comes to a close at Homestead when one of the four remaining drivers will receive the 2019 Championship cup. The drivers who remain are:
- Martin Truex Jr.
- Kyle Busch
- Kevin Harvick
- Denny Hamlin
Last year, it was the Big 3 + Joey Logano. This year, it’s the Big 3 + Denny Hamlin. Will Denny pull off the upset that Logano pulled off last year? Will one of the Big 3 add another cup to their collection?
The final four is filled with hard-driving, chance-taking, intense drivers who all have a shot at becoming one of the elite. Whoever has the best finish takes it all in a rush of excited victory and a long night of alcohol-fueled celebration. But when the excitement dies down, we’ll be talking about Daytona once again.
I hope to see you all again in February. Enjoy the offseason.

Here are this week’s Brilliant, Bold, and Bonkers NASCAR Fantasy picks for the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, Miami.
Brilliant NASCAR fantasy picks
Martin Truex Jr.
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 5
- Top 10 finishes: 9
In 2017, he finished in first place to win his first Championship. In 2018, he finished second. Truex has been laying low since he locked himself into the round of four, but he’ll be back to fighting form on Sunday. Truex has what it takes to grab his second championship, and this is why he’s my #1 pick.
Denny Hamlin
- Wins: 2
- Top 5 finishes: 4
- Top 10 finishes: 9
Hamlin runs well in Florida, with two wins at Homestead and two at Daytona. He has a long road ahead of him if he plans to beat the other three drivers, but he’s coming off of a winning weekend high. Denny is the only one who doesn’t have a championship yet, and you can bet he’s going to lock-in for a shot at the title on Sunday. He’s my #2 choice.
Kevin Harvick
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 10
- Top 10 finishes: 16
See those numbers? Harvick always finishes well at Homestead. His season has been good, but it was rather lackluster compared to last season. Harvick will be battling three JGR team members to get to the front of the class, and this is the reason he’s my #3 pick at Homestead. But I don’t ever rule out the Hapster from pulling off a victory.
Bold NASCAR fantasy picks
Kyle Busch
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 4
- Top 10 finishes: 7
Kyle has finished well at Homestead in the last several years–typically inside the top 10. This has been a mixed season for the No. 18 team, however, and it’s tough for me to see him winning another Championship at this time. He’s a bold pick, which means I’m not ruling him out because, well, he’s Kyle “Rowdy” Busch, after all. But he’s my 4th choice for the championship.
Kyle Larson
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 3
- Top 10 finishes: 3
Larson missed the final four last week at Phoenix, but he raced well and he’s been racing well for several weeks. If any driver outside of the top four has a shot at the win, it’s Larson. It’s not over for the 42 until it’s over. Expect him to fight to the end.
Chase Elliott
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 1
- Top 10 finishes: 2
It was heartbreak station last week when Elliot wrecked at Phoenix, ending his bid for the final four. But the No. 9 would love to bounce back with a final win this season, and he’s got a good chance to do it on Sunday.
Bonkers NASCAR fantasy picks
Jimmie Johnson
- Wins: 1
- Top 5 finishes: 5
- Top 10 finishes: 11
Not gonna happen. Let’s hope that the 48 team finds themselves in the offseason and this 7-time champ gets another win sometime in 2020.
Ryan Blaney
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 0
- Top 10 finishes: 0
Despite his impressive finishes in recent weeks, Blaney has never finished better than 17th at Homestead. Enough said.
Daniel Suarez
- Wins: 0
- Top 5 finishes: 0
- Top 10 finishes: 0
Each season Suarez has gotten slightly better. Let’s hope for good things from this guy in 2020. But don’t put in much hope for Homestead.
