Aidan O’Connell completed 16-of-27 passes for 153 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Raiders’ 16-12 victory over the Jets. He added three rushing yards on two carries.
Fantasy Impact: O’Connell has not been spectacular when he’s played, but he’s been solid enough that the Raiders are 2-1 in his starts. Against a great Jets defense, he led the Raiders to score the game’s only touchdown in the fourth quarter to Michael Mayer. While it’s unfair to name him or discount him as a franchise QB based on such a small sample, the Raiders at least have a bridge quarterback until they find what they’re looking for, which could end up being O’Connell if he continues to improve.
