John Keim of ESPN writes the Football Team wants RB Antonio Gibson to run more pass routes in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: This is music to the ears of fantasy players who are already in on Gibson. The sophomore RB seemingly has a firm grip on early-down duties, but more work in the passing game will be the key to him becoming a true RB1 in fantasy football. Gibson’s usage was interesting as a rookie considering he mainly played wide receiver in college. However, Washington decided to keep J.D. McKissic on the field on passing downs, which limited Gibson’s upside. McKissic is still around, but it would be odd for the Football Team not to utilize Gibson’s play-making abilities more. This will be a storyline to monitor once training camp opens.
