Brandon Aiyuk has been the most consistent offensive performer in training camp and has continued to develop great chemistry with new starting quarterback Trey Lance according to ESPN.com’s Nick Wagoner.
Fantasy Impact: Brandon Aiyuk is reaping the benefits of what he sowed in the offseason, spending much of his time together with Trey Lance in southern California, building timing and chemistry. It has translated to an awesome training camp for the third-year receiver out of Arizona State. Aiyuk also impressed in last year’s training camp coming off a nice rookie campaign before injuring his hamstring late in the preseason. It took him a while to get back to speed before producing nearly identify numbers to his rookie year, coming on late in both seasons. Aiyuk, through two seasons, has 116 receptions for 1.574 yards and 10 touchdowns. If he remains healthy all year, his rapport with Lance could lead to him having a season closer to his career totals. Aiyuk’s biggest limiting factor to his fantasy ceiling, other than health, is having to play in an offense that also features All-Pros Deebo Samuel and George Kittle competing for targets. This competition in San Francisco could cause Aiyuk to remain lower in drafts (currently 8th round/99 ADP) allowing managers to wait and secure the receiver later than they should be able to.
