According to 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan, QB Brock Purdy has entered the league’s concussion protocol, putting his status for Week 8 against Cincinnati in doubt.
Fantasy Impact: Purdy reportedly began experiencing concussion symptoms on the team’s flight home from Minnesota and is now in the league’s protocol. With the 49ers bye week just around the corner in Week 9, the team will most likely be careful with their young QB. If Purdy cannot clear the protocol by Sunday, the Niners will turn to former third-overall pick Sam Darnold to lead them against the Bengals. It is hard to see the San Francisco weapons falling too much in the rankings with Darnold under center, but it is fair to say there is more variability in their projected outputs.
