The New Orleans Saints have selected DT Bryan Bresee with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact: The Saints went offensive line in 2022, drafting OT Trevor Penning, and went defensive line with Bryan Bresee this year. Thor Nystrom has Bresee as No. 29 overall and DL3 with an NFL player comp of Jerry Tillery on his Top 500 big board. Bresee tore his ACL while at Clemson but gives New Orleans a big-bodied lineman at 6’5.5”, 285 lbs with big 10.28” inch paws to knock back offensive lineman. Additionally, for what it’s worth, Bresee was the top-ranked high school player coming out of high school. Bresee is fast for his size, running a 4.86 40-yard dash and his total NFL Combine score of 77 was the 4th-highest for a defensive tackle. He didn’t play like his pre-ACL tear self at times last season but his size and athleticism should easily translate to the next level.
