According to Field Yates of ESPN, Detroit Lions DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson – who was carted off the field earlier today in practice – had an MRI that revealed no structural damage; he is considered day-to-day.
Fantasy Impact: This is a good break for the Lions, as well as Gardner-Johnson, who was brought in on a one-year deal after his market didn’t shape up the way he had hoped. The Lions made a concerted effort to revamp their secondary, and Gardner-Johnson will provide an important role as a versatile defender and potentially as a veteran teacher for rookie DB Brian Branch. Gardner-Johnson led the league in interceptions last season with six while adding 67 tackles, eight passes defended and a sack.
