The Bears have signed kicker Cairo Santos to a five-year, $16 million contract with a maximum value of $17.5 million. The final two years can be voided, so at minimum, it’s a three-year, $9 million pact with an extra $2 million available to bring the maximum to $11 million.
Fantasy Impact: The Bears finally had stability in the kicking game this past season with Santos on the roster. He connected on 30 of 32 field-goal attempts and 36 of 37 extra points. Santos’s field-goal percentage was a career-best, and the 69 total kicks were the most he attempted since 2016. The Bears clearly recognize how crucial the kicking game is, and they are accordingly rewarding Santos for his brilliance in 2020.
