Cam Newton (hand) suffers ‘slight’ bone bruise

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that Patriots QB Cam Newton suffered a slight bone bruise in his right hand during Friday’s practice.

Fantasy Impact: Newton hit his right hand on a helmet and exited Friday’s practice early. The injury is not believed to be serious and he should be all systems go by training camp. Cam is competing with New England’s future QB Mac Jones for the starting gig in 2021. Newton will most likely be the Patriots starter in Week 1 and is currently 28th among all quarterbacks in the latest expert consensus draft rankings.
