The New England Patriots have released QB Cam Newton.

The Patriots will roll with Jones and Brian Hoyer as their top quarterbacks this season. Newton signed a one-year, $1.5 million base salary deal with New England in March. The deal included a $2 million signing bonus. Newton rushed for 592 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Patriots in 2020.
