Mike Reiss of ESPN writes that Patriots QB Cam Newton has been working with a throwing coach to rebuild some of his fundamentals this offseason.
Fantasy Impact: Reiss notes that some players noticed a difference with Newton’s throws during the first phase of voluntary workouts. It’s no secret that the former MVP struggled with his passing in 2020, but that doesn’t mean he can’t improve in his second year with the team. Mac Jones is lurking as Newton’s eventual successor in New England, but the veteran will likely be the team’s Week 1 starter. There’s QB2 fantasy appeal here due to his rushing upside.
