Colts GM Chris Ballard said Tuesday that the team is still working through their decision making process with Carson Wentz.
Fantasy Impact: There were both good and bad signs from Carson Wentz in 2021. The good – he played all 17 games for the first time since 2019. The Colts also have the type of offence that suits Wentz – an elite offensive line, strong running game and a big red zone targets. The bad – he is still very careless with the football, and his accuracy has regressed since his time with Philadelphia. He was QB20 on a per game basis on 2021. It seems that with the Colts, Wentz will likely remain closer to the low end of his range of outcomes, due to the run-heavy nature of the offence. If he were in another situation, like Pittsburgh, where he has been linked to this off-season, his upside becomes considerably higher. Either way, there is risk involved, and he is currently only a viable option in 2QB leagues.
