Chase Claypool, who has been told to stay away from the Bears’ facilities ahead of Week 5, made the coaching staff frustrated with his late arrivals to Halas Hall, failing to learn the full playbook, and in-game mental lapses, according to Adam Jahns of The Athletic.
Fantasy Impact: “Claypool wasn’t doing what’s expected of him and other players, whether it’s arriving on time at Halas Hall in the morning and at his meetings to learning everything that he needs from the Bears’ playbook,” Jahns wrote. “Then on game days, you get plays like his offensive pass-interference penalty that preceded Fields’ game-sealing pick-six against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That gaffe wasn’t discussed enough.” Evidently, Claypool has been a major letdown for the Bears after they traded the 32nd overall pick for him last year. It seems quite possible that Claypool has taken his last snap with the team, though it remains to be seen whether they’ll release him or try to trade him for pennies on the dollar. Regardless, the former second-round pick is not a viable fantasy option in any format.
