According to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post, the Washington Commanders are not exercising the fifth-year option on former No. 2 pick Chase Young.
Fantasy Impact: Young came onto the scene strong as a rookie, earning Defensive Rookie of the Year, but has struggled with health since then. Young has played just 12 games in his last two seasons. With a guaranteed price tag of $17.45 million in 2024, the Commanders will decline the option. If Young can stay healthy and perform in 2023, though, he can get paid sooner.
