Chris Carson unlikely to be re-signed by Seahawks this offseason

Michael-Shawn Dugar with The Athletic is reporting that Chris Carson and the Seahawks are unlikely to work out a deal this offseason.

Fantasy Impact: Carson has been an incredible value for the Seahawks over the last four years. Although his 2020 campaign was plagued with injuries, Carson racked up 2,381 rushing yards between 2018 and 2019 and developed a reputation as a hard-hitting bruiser. This year’s franchise tag is expected to be $8.07M, over three times what Carson has made so far throughout his career. The former seventh-round pick has exceeded expectations so far throughout his career and will look to finally cash in as a free agent before the 2021 season. The Seahawks still have oft-injured first-rounder Rashaad Penny on the roster and second-year DeeJay Dallas. While the Seahawks may be comfortable with that duo in 2021, they may draft or sign another cheaper option this offseason.
