Chris Godwin’s status for Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football will likely come down to a game-time decision according to The Athletic’s Greg Auman.
Fantasy Impact: Godwin caught 98-of-127 targets last season for 1,103 yards and five touchdowns before tearing his ACL on December 19 against the Saints. This is not an ideal situation for fantasy managers especially considering “game-time” is Sunday night. Managers that drafted Godwin may be prudent to find another option for Week 1 unless they have the luxury of a backup option that also plays in the Sunday night game or the Broncos/Seahawks game on Monday night. Newcomers Julio Jones and Russell Gage (hamstring) are in line for more targets if Godwin ultimately can’t suit up against Dallas.
