Christian Watson has been dealing with a knee injury that has prevented him from playing in the preseason, but HC Matt LaFleur said he is “hopeful” Watson will suit up in Week 1.
Fantasy Impact: Watson was drafted in the second round of the draft this season, as the Packers looked to add some playmakers after trading Davante Adams to Las Vegas. Watson is 6’4″ and he used that frame to dominate at North Dakota State, but he also combines his size with impressive quickness as he logged a sub 4.4 40-yard dash at the combine. This rare combination of size and speed could propel him to success in the NFL, but he will need to earn Aaron Rodgers’s trust in order to produce in fantasy this season. After missing time with a knee injury, he should start to be able to get some reps in with his starting QB. Watson is questionable for Week 1, and it is most likely best that he is left on your bench as we get a look at how this new Packers offense will distribute the ball.
