Cordarrelle Patterson, who was sidelined Monday with a soft tissue problem, returned to Falcons’ practice today ahead of the team’s Week 1 game against Carolina.
Fantasy Impact: Patterson is slated to start at the “J” position, which stands for joker, indicating the Falcons plan to use the veteran as a Swiss army knife. Patterson found the end zone a career-high eight teams last season and added a kick return TD to boot. But, the Falcons added standout RB Bijan Robinson this offseason, investing top-10 draft capital in the former Texas back. Atlanta is one of the most run-heavy teams in the league, so perhaps that fact, coupled with Patterson’s ability to play WR as well, could make him a weekly low-end flex play.
