The Giants have released veteran running back Corey Clement. He spent this summer competing for the No. 3 role in New York’s backfield.
Fantasy Impact: With Saquon Barkley and Devontae Booker filling the No. 1 and 2 roles, it seemed quite likely that Clement would also secure a depth spot, especially after he dominated during the preseason. Instead, the third-string role will go to rookie Gary Brightwell. Clement, 26, logged 100 scrimmage yards and one touchdown with the Eagles last year. Now, he’ll hit the open market once again.
