Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) is expected to be removed from the league’s COVID-19 list this week, but his return to training camp will be slowed due to a prolonged groin injury, per Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact: Samuel signed a three-year, $34.5 million contract with Washington back in March, reuniting with former head coach Ron Rivera. Samuel had 137 touches in Carolina during a season without Christian McCaffery in 2020, scoring five total touchdowns and averaging a 79.4 percent catch rate. The 24-year old enters his fourth season on a new team and also gets to reunite with Terry McLaurin, a former collegiate teammate at Ohio State. Samuel is being valued as the WR38 and has seen his ADP drop down to 124.6 due to concerns over COVID-19 and his groin injury. Landing Samuel in the 11th round is good value but there are other players like Laviska Shenault Jr. and Jonnu Smith who I’d prefer taking in this part of the draft.
