According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, WR Denzel Mims was excused from practice and informed by the Jets that he will be waived; the Jets are searching for a potential last-minute trade partner beforehand, though.
Fantasy Impact: Mims has been held firmly by the Jets despite his previous request to be traded and public dissatisfaction with the team and his role. Heading into his fourth season, the last of his rookie deal, the former second-round pick will see himself entering a new opportunity. Mims caught just 42 passes for 676 yards in his career as a Jet, struggling to see the field after his rookie season. Mims’ talent could draw a team to trade for him despite the lack of production, making him an interesting buy-low candidate for WR-needy teams.
