Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Derek Sringley is fully recovered from his Lisfranc injury and he will participate in all drills at LSU’s pro day on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: Former LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. tore a ligament in his left foot, a Lisfranc injury, during a Week 4 matchup against Mississippi State in the 2021 college football season. Stingley Jr. broke out onto the national scene as a freshman during LSU’s 2019 championship season when he was one of the best cornerbacks in all of college football. NFL draft experts have concerns about his 2020 and 2021 tape not living up to what he showed during his freshman season, but scouts attest that the talent is still there. Stingley Jr., who earlier this off-season was widely projected to be the first cornerback taken off the board in the 2022 NFL draft, has seen has draft stock fall a bit in the past few months. However, if Stingley Jr. can show out at his pro day Wednesday and show that he’s fully recovered, he may be able to ease some concerns and put himself back in the conversation of being the first cornerback taken in the draft later this month.
