Now that Deshaun Watson will not face criminal charges, NFL Network National Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Panthers will be “aggressive in pursuit” of the QB. He adds that the Bucs, Seahawks, and Eagles are expected to be in the mix as well. “Basically, anyone who has a quarterback, not a top 10 guy, will probably be interested in some level,” Rapoport says.
Fantasy Impact: Rapoport also notes the Panthers’ pursuit of Watson is going on more than a year now and that a potential fifth “surprise team” may be “lurking and waiting.” Watson’s fantasy football floor is the top 12 as a QB1 option, with the potential to ascend as high as the top 5 if traded to the right destination for fantasy football purposes.
