Deshaun Watson will be suspended 11 games, and be fined $5 million as well. The independent disciplinary officer assigned to Watson’s case had issued only a six-game suspension, but that was raised to 11 games after the NFL and NFLPA went through their appeal process.
Fantasy Impact: Watson is one of the league’s premier QBs and has not played since the end of the 2020 season. The 26-year-old will now have to sit out another 11 games in 2022. With his suspension being less than a full season, fantasy managers will have the option to draft Watson as a bench stash to help them in their fantasy playoff push. In redraft formats, all Browns fantasy players will take a bit of a hit with the step down from Watson to Jacoby Brissett, especially the pass-catchers. Consider drafting Watson as a late-round flyer to help your fantasy team win games down the stretch.
