Devin Duvernay hopes to earn the starting spot opposite presumed WR1, Rashod Bateman, according to BaltimoreRavens.com’s Clifton Brown.
Fantasy Impact: The departure of Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins has paved the way for Duvernay to step into a starting role outside of returning kicks this fall. Duvernay made the Pro Bowl last year as a returner in just his 2nd year in the league and has high hopes heading into his 3rd year. He also caught 33 balls for 272 yards and 2 touchdowns last year and hopes to keep improving on those numbers even more than he improved on his rookie numbers from the previous season. Duvernay’s main competition for starts and opportunities besides Bateman are James Proche II and Tylan Wallace. Duvernay and the rest of the receiving corps took it as a sign of Baltimore’s confidence in them that the team did not draft a wide receiver even after trading away Brown.
