San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell carried the ball 21 times for 119 yards to go along with two catches (on two targets) for 11 yards and a touchdown in a 23-7 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: Mitchell was seeing his first action since Week 13 after dealing with a concussion and knee injury and received a full workload. He looked fresh on Sunday, averaging 5.7 yards a carry and finding the end zone on an eight-yard toss from Trey Lance. He didn’t see a goal-line carry but was still able to produce a solid fantasy day and show why he’s the top dog in the 49ers’ backfield. It’s worth noting that backup running back Jeff Wilson Jr. didn’t receive a carry on Sunday. Mitchell should be viewed as a low-end RB1 in next week’s divisional tilt against the Los Angeles Rams.
